Most new Ultimate Team content — promo cards, SBCs, objectives — goes live at 6pm UK time. The hour around it is the most chaotic on the transfer market, and chaos is good for snipers.
What happens around 6pm
Before the drop, players sell cards to raise coins for new packs and SBCs. More cards are listed, and prices dip.
Right after the drop, packs get opened in huge numbers. Lots of cards flood the market at once, and plenty are listed fast and cheap by people who just want the coins.
New SBCs create sudden demand for specific nations, leagues and ratings. Cards that fit the new requirements can rise within minutes.
How to set up for it
- Pick filters before 6pm. Have two or three ready, especially cheap multi-player filters like gold commons from a popular league.
- Use the scheduler (Gold and Platinum) to start a saved profile at, say, 5:55pm.
- Watch new SBCs. When the requirements appear, Radar (Platinum) turns them into hot filters you can load in one click.
- Mind your limits. A busy hour is exactly when it’s tempting to push speed up. Keep the safety limits on.
After the rush
Prices tend to settle over the following hours as supply catches up. If you bought fodder for new SBCs, the best time to sell is usually while demand is still high, not the next morning.
Check the Market tab’s heatmap after a few days: it shows which hours have been cheapest and dearest for the cards you trade, based on your own searches.
