You log in to the FC 27 web app, open the Transfers tab and the market is greyed out. It’s one of the most common problems at the start of a new FC, and it’s almost always the same cause: EA hasn’t unlocked web app trading on your account yet.
Why EA locks the market
EA locks the transfer market on the web app for accounts it doesn’t trust yet. It’s an anti-fraud measure aimed at coin sellers, who create fresh accounts in bulk and use them to move coins. A new or rarely played account looks very similar to one of those, so it starts locked.
The lock only affects the web and companion apps. In most cases you can still trade on your console or PC.
What EA looks at
EA has never published an exact checklist, but the things that reliably help are:
- Playing FUT in the game itself. Matches, Squad Battles, Rivals and SBCs all count. Activity in the game, not on the web app, is what matters most.
- Account history. Accounts that played previous FC or FIFA titles usually unlock sooner.
- Normal trading in game. Buying and listing a few cards on console or PC builds a history.
- Time. Some accounts unlock after a few days of normal play, others take longer.
There’s no shortcut that EA publicly supports. Anyone selling a “guaranteed unlock” is selling you nothing.
The error you’ll see
The web app tells you the market is unavailable, or the Transfers tab simply won’t open the search. Behind the scenes, EA’s server answers market searches with an error. In FUT Snipe Club you’ll see a clear message saying your account doesn’t have transfer market access yet, rather than a run that silently does nothing.
Locked after it worked before
If the market was working and has now locked, it’s a different situation:
- A temporary search block (“too many actions”, or searches returning nothing for a while) usually clears by itself after a break. See FC 27 web app not working? Common fixes.
- A transfer market ban is more serious and usually follows automation or coin buying. EA normally emails you when this happens.
What to do while you wait
You don’t have to sit still:
- Play Squad Battles and Rivals for rewards and packs.
- Complete cheap SBCs with your own club players. FUT Snipe Club’s SBC Assistant uses your club first, so it costs nothing extra.
- Trade manually in the game on console or PC.
Once the web app market unlocks, read your first snipe in five minutes to get going straight away.
